Ferguson rallies his troops

alex-fergusonSir Alex Ferguson will ring the changes to ensure his Manchester United team don't suffer a Champions League hangover against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Old Trafford chief has conceded it has been a difficult task trying to pick his players up off the floor following their European exit to Real Madrid in midweek.

But with an FA Cup semi-final carrot now being dangled, the Red Devils are determined to bounce back in style. They are 8.00 to win 2-1, and are 2.62 to keep a clean sheet.

Ferguson has already revealed Wayne Rooney is set to start alongside Javier Hernandez, with Robin van Persie expected to drop down to the bench.

Ryan Giggs will sit out the game, but Antonio Valencia will be handed another opportunity at the expense of Nani, who is still reeling from the harsh red card he received against Real.

Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans could also form the centre-back pairing, but Chelsea's interim boss Rafa Benitez has been assured United, who are 3.25 to win the competition, will still be firing on all cylinders.

Ferguson insists: "We have a game against good opponents. Chelsea have a terrific record in the FA Cup, probably the best of any team in the last decade.

"We haven't won it for ten years so there are lot of incentives for us. We know we will have a hard game but I think we'll be ready for it."
