Lescott wary of wounded Everton

joleon-lescottJoleon Lescott insists he won't be to blame, should bogey side Everton hammer another nail in Manchester City's title coffin at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The City defender's £24million switch from the Toffees to the Etihad Stadium in 2009 caused tensions to be raised in the fixture.

City have since found it tough going against David Moyes' men, winning only once and losing five out of the last seven games. City are 8.50 to end that run by winning 1-0 at Goodison Park and are now 17.00 to retain their Premier League title.

Everton will certainly be motivated to record another win against Roberto Mancini's team, having been dumped out of the FA Cup quarter-finals last weekend by Wigan Athletic.

The Merseysiders were left in no doubt by the home support just what they thought of that poor performance.

And Lescott, 29.00 to open the scoring against his former team, insists: "When I was at Everton we beat City on a number of occasions, so I don't think it's all down to my transfer.

"I wouldn't say they raise their game against us, because they are always tough opponents against any team. Goodison is a tough away ground.

"The whole club will be disappointed with their result against Wigan, and you know they will be hard at it in training and determined to get a result against us.

"We know that if we are not fully on it we will lose. We have to go there determined to get the three points."
