Betting pick Benfica - Chelsea 3.30 - 2.40

I like the odds on the Chelsea win. I would never offer more than evens on Chelsea.

Last week was a terrible week for Benfica. First they drew their home game with Estoril and then they lost to Porto at the weekend, with Kevin scoring an injury time winner for Porto. All of sudden, in a most painful way, Porto have passed Benfica in the league table and Porto will most likely be the league winners.

These two negative results did not surprise me that much.

The Benfica coach J Jesus has complained for a long time about fatigue in his squad after all their many games this season. What surprised me was that Cardozo started on the bench against Porto. Their most dangerous player by a mile only played the last twenty minutes of the game. Cardozo has been fantastic in the Europa League and he will start in this final, rest assured of that. Their wing back Maxi Pereira will sit out a suspension.



No Demba Ba for Chelsea, that much we know and Mikel, J Terry, Bertrand and Hazard are on their injury list. Hazard will hopefully be fit to play, but he is very much a serious doubt. I do not think J Terry will recover in time for the match. I do not expect F Lamaprd to start in this final.

Something with Lampard, he is at his best in the domestic games and I am sure coach Benitez is aware of that. Anyway Benitez has so far been very successful picking the right group of players for all their many fixtures these last weeks and I am confident he will pick a winning side also for this final.

Backing Chelsea, but could be I will also be backing Cardozo to score for Benfica.

Sounds like an over game, 3-1 win for Chelsea.
