Matej Vydra has joined West Brom on a season-long loan from Udinese

The 21 year-old earned the Championship Player of the Year title at the Football League Awards.

The Czech Republic striker scored 20 league goals during loan at Watford previous season to guide them to 3rd in the Championship and get to the play-off final.

Albion have made a offer to bring him back to England on equivalent terms. Gianfranco Zola claimed last month he had not thrown out believe of re-signing Vydra, however striker continues to be linked with many Premier League clubs and Albion are the first to show their hand . Steve Clarke has already imported one striker this summer in Nicolas Anelka , but Romelu Lukaku is back at Chelsea following the end of his loan spell and Peter Odemwingie is a objective for Al Nasr of Dubai.

Vydra would be eager to play in the Premier League throughout the upcoming campaign following his amazing previous season at Vicarage Road.

Questioned if he would like to be placed on his way to the English highest flight before the transfer range closes , Vydra told : "It would be my dream . I would like to play in that competition. I have not been thinking about specific clubs because there has not been anything. After the international friendly (on 14th August) I would like to move on finally."

Vydra admits a transfer this late in the window might be not even close to ideal , however he is actually hesitant to remain in Italy in which he discovers himself some way down the attacking pecking request : "I know it's not ideal because the leagues are starting this week or the next weekend. I would come in as a new player without having spent pre-season preparation with the team and that would make my position more difficult at the beginning. If someone does sign me, hopefully they would want me to play. Training here has been the same as it would have been somewhere else. In the next few days it should be resolved."

The West Brom manager, Steve Clarke: "I’m delighted to welcome Matej to the club. He had a really good year with Watford and we believe he’s got the qualities to score goals at a higher level. Hopefully, he’ll show that this year with us. We had Matej watched throughout last season. As well as some excellent scouting reports, we had some really good feedback from within Watford about Matej as both a player and person. I’ve said previously we’re a bit light in the forward areas and Matej will increase competition for places. He’s another good quality striker to add to the other three senior forwards we have here.
