Diego Costa completes signing with Chelsea

Diego Costa

It must have been heartbreaking for England to exit from the World Cup early, but business must go on as usual in the country’s top-flight league.

To boost the 2014-15 season with more substance and thrill, EPL clubs are signing (or planning to) top players from other major clubs. Here is a rundown of the most important happenings in the Premier League:

Atletico Madrid star player Diego Costa has recently signed a five-year deal with sports betting frontrunners Chelsea. The £32-million contract would be the third major transfer in the summer window for Jose Mourinho’s squad following the signing of Cesc Fabregas and Mario Pasalic.

Arsenal’s bid to sign World Cup winner Sami Khedira is losing its traction after the player demanded for a weekly salary of £150,000. The club is reluctant to make the German striker their top-earning player.

Crystal Palace will see its midfield strengthened by the arrival of Gylfi Sigurdsson who agreed to play for the Eagles on a £8-million deal. Club coach and last season’s “best manager” Tony Pulis is also planning to add Swansea striker Michu into the ensemble.

Samuel Eto’o is leaving Chelsea on a free transfer to either Arsenal or Everton. The prolific Cameroon international has not yet chosen his next club but he might as well choose the former as he expressed interest playing at the Champions League next season.

Hull City have completed a deal with Norwich City winger Robert Snodgrass. Iranian defender Ehsan Hajsafi and Spurs’ Michael Dawson might also become new members of The Tigers very soon.
