Petra Kvitova was relieved to overcome Marina Erakovic in the first round of the French Open, conceding she had to battle tricky conditions as well as her opponent.
Wimbledon champion Kvitova was pushed to three sets by Erakovic but finally progressed to the second round 6-4 3-6 6-4 following a deciding set that featured five breaks of serve.
