Agbonlahor targets City shock - free betting tips

gabriel-agbonlahorGabriel Agbonlahor admits the pressure is on Aston Villa to get a result against Manchester City on Today evening.

Bottom club QPR's win at Southampton lifted them to within four points of Villa, who are 18th in the table and now 1.83 to be relegated.

A win against City is a daunting task, and Villa were thrashed 5-0 in the reverse fixture in November. However, Agbonlahor is targeting a shock against the champions, which would provide a massive boost ahead of crucial upcoming fixtures against Reading and QPR.

Villa are 21.00 to win 2-1, while a goalless draw can be backed at 15.00.

"To get that home win (against West Ham) out of the way was good because it gave the whole team confidence," said the striker, who is 13.00 to score first on Monday.

"But now we're back in the bottom three after losing to Arsenal.

"We know that means we need results or we are not getting out of there.

"But if you see a lot of teams in the bottom half of the table, they will be looking over their back."

He added in the Birmingham Mail: "We just have to get our results."

Paul Lambert hopes to be able to call upon Ron Vlaar after the captain was forced to miss the Arsenal defeat with a calf injury, but Darren Bent is still struggling with a foot injury.

Meanwhile, Man Utd welcome Real Madrid to Old Trafford on Tuesday 5th March with their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie in the balance - and we've got a fantastic free bet offer to add to the excitement.

Mancini urges focus - hot betting tips

roberto-manciniManchester City's players have been told to look at Barcelona's problems to put their own right.

The Blues face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday evening knowing anything but a victory will put rivals Manchester United even further on the road to title success. They are 8.00 to pull off a 2-1 win, and are 2.10 to keep a clean sheet.

Roberto Mancini's men are currently 15 points behind the Red Devils and 26.00 to retain their title, and the Italian has been scathing in his recent criticism of some individuals.

City will be wary of the threat posed by Paul Lambert's strugglers, having already dropped points against the likes of West Ham, Queens Park Rangers and Southampton this season.

The champions have since recorded back-to-back-wins against Leeds United, in the FA Cup, and last weekend against Chelsea, following that horror show against Saints.

But Mancini feels his team only have to see the recent defeats encountered by Barca to understand that they have to apply themselves correctly at all times.

The Etihad boss admits: "It's easy when you've won a game and everyone is saying 'well done' or 'you are the best'.

"But Messi and Barcelona are the best team but they are losing and sometimes in football it's impossible to win every game. We have to take responsibility."

Midfielder Gareth Barry faces a late fitness test on a twisted ankle against his former club.

AVB warns Spurs of job ahead

andre-villas-boas-2Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas says his side still have plenty to do to secure a top-four finish, despite moving seven points clear of Arsenal after a 2-1 derby win

Spurs' victory at White Hart Lane also moved them back up into third place in the Premier League, but Villas-Boas remains aware that his side have several difficult fixtures still to come.

He told reporters: "We still have some difficult games to play against big teams - Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City plus Everton - teams who have same objectives as ours, so it hasn't finished yet.

"Everything is still possible and we just have to gather the most amount of points that we can.

"There is a great focus on trying to make this year the year we qualify for the Champions League once again.

"Everybody's ambition is to be there. The club could be propelled into a big club in England in the future."

Spurs are 1.28 to finish in the top four and secure a Champions League, unless Arsenal win the Champions League and finish outside the top four.

The Gunners are 201.00 to be crowned European champions and 2.75 to finish in the top four themselves, with manager Arsene Wenger admitting that their task got a lot harder due to their weekend loss.

He added: "We have to fight and it will be difficult now, because we dropped points that we couldn't afford to drop. It will be a massive challenge."

Suarez urged to stay at Anfield

luis-suarezBrendan Rodgers insists he sees no reason why Luis Suarez will not still be at Liverpool next season despite ongoing reports to the contrary.

The Uruguay international grabbed a superb hat-trick in Saturday's 4-0 victory at Wigan Athletic to bring his Premier League tally for the season up to 21. He is 1.66 to be the Premier League's top scorer this season while Manchester United's Robin van Persie can be backed at 2.50.

Suarez, who has 28 goals to his name in all competitions so far this term, is being linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich, who will guarantee him the opportunity of playing Champions League football next season which is unlikely at Anfield as the Reds are currently nine points off the top four.

However, Rodgers insists that Suarez remains committed to the club and is confident of keeping him on Merseyside.

"It is hard to say it is not important because it is as top players want to play at the top level," said the former Swansea City manager. "There will always be interest in top players and he is a world-class player.

"I speak regularly with Luis and I had a good meeting with his agent a few weeks ago who expressed how much he wants to be a part of things going forward.

"He has is a real affinity here with the players, he is a real leader within the group for us, the supporters adore him, he loves the city and I think he genuinely sees there is a bright future for us.

"It is one where it could have been easy for him to walk out last summer (he instead signed a new contract) but he didn't and he is very happy. Hopefully he can see these next couple of years will be very important years for the club and for him."

Holtby targets second place - football betting tips uk

lewis-holtbyLewis Holtby believes that if Tottenham can beat Arsenal in Today's North London derby, then Andre Villas-Boas' side can finish second in the Premier League.

Holtby has been a key performer for Spurs in the last few weeks following his arrival from Schalke and is 12.00 to open the scoring against the Gunners.

He sees no reason why Spurs shouldn't look to overhaul Manchester City, who currently occupy second spot in the table, if they can beat Arsenal - Villas-Boas' side are available at 12.00 to win the match 2-0.

A victory against Arsenal at White Hart Lane would leave Spurs seven points clear of the fifth-placed Gunners and 1.53 to finish in the top four.

Holtby said: "I'm new to the club but I've played in derbies - Schalke against Dortmund, the mother of all derbies they call it, in front of 80,000 - we won that away this year, 2-1.

"They are emotional, they are great games but as a player you have to be cool in these games. We need to stay in third place and, maybe, have a little sniff at Man City. I want to be glorious with the club.

"I loved playing for Schalke but, for me, it was the perfect time to move to Spurs.

"I have made the right decision - my dream was always to play in the Premier League. In my position, in midfield, [Villas-Boas] gives me a free role and tells me to get involved. He's doing a real good job."

Jagielka to have ankle surgery

david-moyesEverton manager David Moyes fears that he will be without the services of Phil Jagielka for a lengthy spell after the defender sustained an ankle injury against Reading.

The 30-year-old former Sheffield United player will have to undergo surgery on the damaged ankle and could miss England's World Cup qualifiers against San Marino and Montenegro later this month.

Moyes was unhappy with the challenge made by Adam Le Fondre that led to Jagielka having to be replaced after just five minutes of Everton's 3-1 victory against the Royals.

The Scot said afterwards: "It's a bad one, he's going to have surgery to stitch it up.

"At the time I thought it was a poor challenge. I've genuinely not seen it again. Maybe if I see it again I will think differently. I'm disappointed because Jags is such a good player."

England face San Marino on 22nd March and Montenegro four days later while Everton have an FA Cup quarter-final tie at home to Wigan Athletic on 9th March.

Everton can be backed at 13.00 to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season and at 5.00 to win the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, Le Fondre apologised to Jagileka via a tweet on Saturday evening, which read: "Fans were brilliant today. Shame about result. Everton were class. Thoughts with Jags. Never meant to catch him. Caught him late and apologised."

Wenger tips Wilshere for greatness - Bet On Football

jack-wilshereArsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that Jack Wilshere is good enough to win 100 caps for England and has backed him to add goals to his game in the future.

Wenger has made the comments in the build-up to Sunday's North London derby at White Hart Lane which Spurs are 2.37 to win and Arsenal 3.10.

Wenger accepts that Gareth Bale, 5.00 to open the scoring in Today's match, is the current flavour of the month following his superb late strikes against the likes of Lyon and West Ham United, but believes Wilshere, 21.00 to open the scoring at Spurs, will prove to the better player in the long term.

The Gunners boss said of Wilshere: "You forget he is only 21, and already a natural leader and an established international player.

"But when you look at him, who would deny that he is going to get 100 England caps if he stays fit? He reads his football. He doesn't talk too much but he understands everything. He is something special.

"I don't want to make comparisons between him and any other player. My job is simply to get the best out of him, but the best is yet to come.

"He will never be a real goalscorer but it will come for him. He will be a 10-15 goals a season man eventually. It is part of his development to score more, get more advanced. He likes to go deep but the finishing will come.

"He is in the situation Fabregas was. Cesc said to me, 'I can't score goals'. But you could see it would come."
