Andy Murray and Tomas Berdych were relatively untroubled in winning their first-round matches at the French Open.

Seeded third at Roland Garros, Murray had few problems in seeing off world number 137 Facundo Arguello 6-3 6-3 6-1, while fourth seed Berdych was similarly ruthless in overcoming Yoshihito Nishioka 6-0 7-5 6-3.
