Fixture congestion concerns Irish - Best bet on World Cup Qualifiers

The Northern Ireland FA are set to hold crisis talks with FIFA over their mounting fixture pile-up.

Their World Cup qualifier with Russia was called off late Friday night due to heavy snow which has fallen on the Windsor Park pitch over the last two days.

The game has been rescheduled for 3pm today and a further update will be provided at 10.30am following another pitch inspection.

Groundstaff and volunteers have been working frantically throughout the night to now try and make the Belfast pitch playable.

But Irish football chiefs are understandably concerned with yet another home qualifier due to be played this coming Tuesday against Israel.

A meeting will take place this evening to review all the options and possible dates in the calendar should the weather again take its toll.

Northern Ireland are 8.00 to win, 4.00 to draw and 1.53 to beat Russia on Today.
