Mancini offers hope to Toure

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure is set to be handed another chance this weekend to prove he is worth a new deal.

Roberto Mancini's side host Championship side Barnsley in the FA Cup quarter-finals and must fancy their chances of booking a Wembley trip in the next round, with City 1.12 to win in normal time at the Etihad Stadium and 7.00 to triumph by a 2-0 margin.

One player who has stood out in recent weeks for the Blues is Toure, who has been outstanding in the absence of injured skipper Vincent Kompany.

The Ivory Coast international is out of contract at the end of this season and has attracted interest from Turkish clubs Bursaspor and Galatasaray.

But the 31-year-old could yet be offered new terms as he helps City lead their assault on the FA Cup, a trophy they won as recently as 2011 and which they are 2.75 to win again this season.

Mancini insists: "We don't know at this moment, but it is important that Kolo continues to play the way he did on Monday night at Aston Villa and also against Chelsea.

"Kolo is a really professional player and deserves to have the satisfaction of those performances. He has done really well and we will see. I am happy for him because he is a good guy."
